Sonixinema released with Hybrid Scoring Collection: Strings (Affiliate Link) a library full of textures, hybrid fx, and modern stringed instruments. Sonixinema recorded and sampled for this library instruments such as guitars, bass, and mandolin. Also, all included sampled instruments have been processed through intricate sound design to create sound effects, and ghostly atmospheres score elements which today’s current score & trailer require. Sonixinema did send me a review copy with no strings attached.

As there are many Hybrid Scoring libraries out now, you will find new and exciting sounds and tones in this library that are not available elsewhere in a similar package.  When I did first hear the demos from Sonixinema, I was affected as the sounds listened too triggered something within me. The library comes with lots of hybrid effects and playable instruments, where I see this library stronger about the hybrid impact overall.

After purchasing you receive links to download the Hybrid Scoring library. When downloaded you need to unpack the files. If needed move it to your favorite Kontakt library location on your internal or external hard drive. After a batch re-save in Kontakt, you are ready to use your new library.

With the over 18GB of content, you get the sound of musical textures and contemporary stringed instruments. Sonixinema did include 300+ presets. On the main page, you have the most used tools to adjust the sound/instrument loaded or can do further changes on the effects page. Tools included are volume, pan, pitch, attack, sustain, release, high pass/low pass filters each with a cut-off and resonance knob, or on the full effects page a three-band EQ, reverb, compression, delay, and tape saturation.

Hybrid Scoring Collection: Strings (Affiliate Link) finds a balance in offering hybrid effects and playable instruments across strings, guitars, and basses. Besides, the predesigned results been produced on the sounds that are part of the captured instruments. If you have sound design tools, you can further change the tone and emotion of the included sounds. Sonixinema did add mangled sounds and FX effects ready for you to use. There are plenty of additional tools included like whooshes, drones which could be quickly sold on as their library due to the value and quality.  Overall an excellent library for a trailer and score design. Hybrid Scoring Collection: Strings helps you to add the spices you need for today’s scores, while you can build your won tracks entirely on this library I would hight recommend to use it to its strengths and combine it and spice out your composition with this sounds.
