Haunted Spaces – Drag and Drop User Samples

With the launch of Kontakt’s newest version, the release 6.2 finally allows the user to drag his own samples onto the front panel of an instrument, and have them auto-map and integrate into it. To learn more about this library take a look at our Haunted Spaces Review. Haunted Spaces by Soniccouture is after the earlier release of Geosonics the second release from Soniccouture working with field recordist Chris Watson. Haunted Spaces is based on new recordings and is not reusing to Geosonics sounds.

This is something Soniccouture has been waiting for a while, and we have lots of ideas for it. Haunted Spaces by Soniccouture is a sound designer dream; anyone who wants to deliver certain emotions will be extremely pleased with this library. Alternative the included sounds can be used (in sound design) as the base for new instruments and sounds when mangled through external plugins and hardware sampler.

Those recordings have been combined with hundreds of synth, acoustic and percussion waveforms (including Ondioline, Novachord, Bowed Piano) to scare you and your audience when they listen to it. Not all sounds are scary but the good on getting you to sit up straight in your studio at night and sure help to deliver those needed emotions in a score or trailer.

Threnody: Avant-Garde Strings

With Threnody Soniccouture released something a little different from the many string libraries already on the market. The focus in Threnody is on avant-garde string articulations, such as those you hear in late 20th century orchestral music or science fiction film soundtracks

Threnody was recorded in Budapest with a 60 piece orchestra, this instrument explores the darker side of strings, with 26 extended & avant-garde articulations. THRENODY samples a massive string section of 60 musicians, creating a textural playground of col legno clattering, clusters, ‘clouds’ of activity, and arcs of glissandi. Avant-garde & extended playing techniques like these have long been a foundation for sci-fi and horror soundtracks, where the orchestra becomes a shifting edifice of sound.

THRENODY features 26 different articulations sampled across the entire orchestral range, which can be layered with an XY controller to create entirely new orchestral shapes and movements. The articulations we chose are divided into 7 categories: Traditional, Extended, Cluster, Micropolyphony, Clouds Pitched, Clouds Cluster, and Glissandi. All articulations are recorded at multiple dynamics across the entire orchestral range.

Pricing and Availability

Threnody is available now, at an Intro Offer with 20% off until June, 4th 2021.
