Nanopolarity an Arturia Pigments 2 Soundset

Nanopolarity is a collection of cinematic soundscapes for Arturia Pigments 2. The core of the sounds is based on 250MB of sampled sounds from the Access Virus TI hardware synthesizer and is aimed for productions of film and TV, as well as contemporary music genres where a simple pad just doesn’t cut it.

The Arturia Pigments is a fantastic synthesizer and Plughugger would like to work more on it and create more synth-centric sounds for it. Nanopolarity was my first real work with it and is based on soundscapes, textures, and synthetic hits recorded from a Virus TI. It’s an excellent soundset and you can listen to the demos here. Producer Brian Brylow was kind enough to provide me with an atmospheric Pink Floyd-ish demo for it and Plughugger absolutely recommends you to take a listen to it.

Nanopolarity is our first soundset for the Arturia Pigments, and the combination of Arturia Pigments and Virus TI is a match made in heaven. With its vast synthesis capabilities, the Virus is the perfect source to further sculpt the raw samples into completely new sounds. We used the granular engine as well as the Shaper Mode (unison, resonators, chords etc) and made good use of the excellent modulation capabilities in Pigments.

Apart from pads and soundscapes, we also added a handful of percussive sounds from the Virus, as the foundation of synthetic-cinematic hits and boomers.

Nanopolarity contains 174 new sounds:

  • 163 Textures / Soundscapes
  • 11 Drum / Percussion
