I did upgrade recently the studio with different hardware sampler. The introduced hardware sampler are from Yamaha, Akai and E-MU. I did end with more than one model from each vendor. Every hardware vendor and also the different model from each vendor modifies and changes the sampled sound much more than expected. Older models which are seen as not so high-quality devices produce sounds and emotions that are hard to produce with software sampler and provide a roughness that is unique and desired in many scores.

SAmpler One

To provide an example I did sample some of the content of Photosynthesis (from Audio Imperia) with an Akai S01 hardware sampler. The video shows hopefully many benefits a hardware sampler can provide when used with already vast libraries.
